ICPC to prosecute El-Rufai for alleged corruption Tuesday – Latest Nigerian News

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) will arraign former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for alleged corruption at the Federal High Court, Kaduna, on Tuesday.

This was disclosed by ICPC Head of Media and Public Communications, John Odey, in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

He said El-Rufai would be charged alongside Joel Adoga on charges of conversion and possession of public property as well as money laundering.

The former governor was arrested on February 18 after being acquitted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The statement read: “The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) will arraign former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i (L) and one Joel Adoga (L) at the Federal High Court of Nigeria in the Kaduna Judicial Division on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The suit numbered FHC/KD/73/2026 has charges ranging from conversion and possession of public property, to money laundering.

“Similarly, another charge number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26 against Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i and one Amadu Sule (LEDA), has also been filed at the Kaduna State High Court at the Kaduna Judicial Division.

“The charges in the District High Court case include, among other things, abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and providing undue benefits. Both charges were filed by the ICPC on March 18 2026. The date of the indictment at the District High Court will be notified at the appropriate time as determined by the Court.”
