Veteran Nigerian music producer and singer Olumide Ogunade popularly known as ID Cabasa is worried that the true purpose of marriage may have been forgotten.
In a recent interview with Echoo Room, ID Cabasa shared his anxiety and emphasized that marriage was not originally intended for mere happiness or feelings, as mentioned in the Bible.
ID Cabasa, who is the founder of Coded Tunes, a record label that signed Olamide, 9ice, 2Shotz, Reminisce and others, said that unfortunately the purpose of marriage has been lost.

He said, “If I explain this, I pray that people will not misunderstand. This is what I practice… at the wedding venue, there are God, men, women and children. Even in the creation of marriage, unfortunately the purpose of marriage has been lost.
”People need to listen to me carefully so that I am not misquoted. I think the purpose of marriage is not to provide happiness or satisfy feelings.”
The music producer went on to say that biblical teachings consider procreation to be the primary purpose of marriage. Happiness and satisfaction, he believes, should come naturally to couples who have the same goals.
“The goal is set forth in the Bible, and I use the Bible, which is for us to multiply and dominate the earth, and that is the goal. Happiness and everything else should benefit you for that purpose. “So if we follow the goal where God is the head and the man is the head of the family, it means that men are responsible to God and women,” he added.
