The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, strongly condemned the cowardly and senseless killing of SP Bako Angbashim.
At the time of his tragic demise, SP Bako Angbashim served as the Divisional Police Officer for Ahoada Division in Rivers State.
According to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja, the IGP had expressed deep concerns over this heinous act.
He said that the IGP viewed this reprehensible act as not only an attack on the Nigeria Police Force but also a direct assault on the very foundation of law, order, and security within our nation.
The IGP was quoted to have said that SP Bako Angbashim was not just a police officer; but also an officer who represented a bulwark against chaos.
He exemplified unwavering dedication to his duty.
Adejobi said that: “The IGP is unequivocal in his stance that such malicious acts against any member of the Force will not be tolerated.
” He assures that the pursuit of justice will begin promptly, and those responsible for this heinous crime will be relentlessly pursued, apprehended, and brought to justice.
“The Inspector-General of Police extends his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of SP Bako Angbashim, his dedicated colleagues, and all Nigerians who mourn the loss of a true hero in the ongoing mission to maintain peace and security in the nation.”
