Michael Carrick has described the goal of Kelechi Iheanacho against Oxford United as massive for Middlesbrough.
Iheanacho opened his goals for Boro, since he took them at the 2-1 victory against Oxford in the Saturday championship accessory.
It was his first goal since December 5, 2024, when he scored for Matrix Club Sevilla in his 3-1 victory on the side of the Lower Olot division.
“Good player, you know, he’s a good player,” Carrick said about Iheanacho in his post -poster published on the Boro website.
“He is proven, experienced, and I’m sure he was a bit frustrated because he had an opportunity in the first half, and he did not enter. He hit the crossbar, but that’s football, you know.
βThe main thing I have learned over the years is not to let myself carry when you have a sticky patch because the only way you can get out of it is to be positive.
βI thought the boys stayed very well, they leaned very well and Kelz [Iheanacho] I obtained your reward. It is a really important goal for us, and I am sure that it will also start it.
“It was a good goal in general. We had good numbers in the box and it was positive. We tried to make something happen with a little game on the side.
“He is happy.
“I was not worried; I knew I would write down and, hopefully, he has more in him; I am sure he has done it. It was a massive goal for us.”
