In the end, Asisat Oshoala talks about retirement rumors

The most famous footballer of Nigeria, Asisat Oshoala, closed the rumors about her retreat from international football, declaring that it remains fully engaged in the Super Falcons.

Speaking after the exciting 3-2 return victory of Nigeria on Morocco in the final of the Africa Nations Cup (Wafcon) of 2024, Oshoala described retirement statements as a foundation without foundation.

“I don’t know where it comes from, but the agenda must be agent. I understand, but I’m not disturbed. I am still here, still playing, I’m still doing my job. This is what I focus on,” said the thirty -year -old mentioned by Republican Nigeria.

Although his role in Morocco was limited, Oshoala was part of the official team of 23 Nigerian players and continues to be a key figure in the team.

Reflecting on the return of the Super Falcons, he encouraged fans and young players to persevere:

“Do not surrender: continue to fight until the end. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, if you believe. You’re ready because every time you can be called and when you do it, show it.”

Oshoala made her senior debut for Nigeria in 2013 and gained international fame a year after the U-20 Fifa women’s Cup, where she was named the best player and top scorer of the tournament. He later helped Nigeria to win the African women’s championship 2014 and gained the member of the honor of the Order of Niger (MON) by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Since then he has represented Nigeria to the three cups of the FIFA female world (2015, 2019 and 2023), scoring in each, which made the first African to reach that goal. His international career includes four Wafcon titles (2014, 2016, 2018 and 2024).

Despite the recent challenges for accidents and reduced minutes, the influence of Oshoala inside and off the pitch remains fundamental for the continuous success of the Super Falcons.
