The Independent National Election Commission (Inec) has found 27,817 many registrations from sustainable voter registration that has just been concluded in the State of Anambra.
Commission, however, added 146,353 new voters to the State Voter List.
Commissioner and Chair of the National Inec, the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Oluumekun, revealed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He said the commission met on Thursday and, among other problems, negotiated on the final list of voters for the November 8 Governor Election in the State of Anambra.
He said the commission also negotiated about the status of an intention letter from the association that sought registration as a political party.
The National Commissioner notes that in the continuation of the preparation for the governor election, the commission registered voters in 316 wards in all states between 8 and 20 July.

Oluumekun said: “During that period, 168,187 residents were registered as new voters. At the end of the registration training, Inec was set aside July 26 and August 1 for the appearance of all new registrants in all wards for claims and objections in line with part 19 (1) of Electoral Act 2022.
“The next commission examines the list using an automatic biometric identification system (abis) to detect invalid registration.
“At the end of the process, 27,817 records were found two or several registrations and were deleted from the list.
“As a result, the number for new registrants is now established at 140,370, while valid applications for transfer to state stands in 5,983, make a total of 146,353 new voters.
“Before the registration of new voters, Anambra had 2,656,437 registered voters. With new registrants, the voter list for the country is now at 2,802,790.”
