Inec reduces the ‘premature’ campaign for the 2027 election

The Chairperson of the Independent National Election Commission (Inec), Mahmood Yakubu, on Thursday condemned the “premature” campaign for the 2027 general election by political parties.

Jacobu spoke at a one -day -to -day stakeholder on the premature political campaign organized by the Electoral Institute (TEI) in Abuja.

The Chairperson of Inec, who quoted Section 94 (1) of the 2022 Law election, said such a premature campaign by the parties and their candidates two years before the election damaged the commission’s ability to track the campaign financial boundaries for the election.

Section 94 (1) The Election Law sets a 150 day campaign period for the election.
