Inequity: Military to mobilize 800 Special Forces

Defense Chief of Staff, General Christopher Musa, said on Wednesday that the military would mobilize at least 800 special forces trained to operational areas to overcome the country’s security challenges.

CD stated this at the 2025 Defense Training Conference in Abuja.

He said: “One week next week, we will pass the first 800 special forces trained to face the challenges we experienced, and this training is very comprehensive.

“We have realized that spreading it in pieces also created the weaknesses that we see. We will use it together, the power that remains together, which will understand each other. Because of experience, combat power must be able to understand itself.”

He said the conference was held as an important part of a joint commitment to build professional power and be good battles that were well equipped to navigate the developing operational landscape.

“There is a need for collaboration and cooperation of all services that work together.

“Seeing our operational environment, there is evidence that the threats we face are increasingly complex, asymmetrical, and problems guided by technology.

“This threat ranges from the scourge of the rebellion and continuous terrorism until the emergence of cyber warfare, hybrid nature, and sophisticated weaponry proliferation.

“We also witnessed the integration of fast artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced supervision technology, and sophisticated electronic cyber wars,” Musa said.
