Galatasaray chief coach Okan Buruk has decided not to include Nigeria Victor Osimhen’s international striker on his team for the UEFA Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.
Osimhen returned from the International Service with Nigeria with an ankle injury that was collected very early in the 1-0 victory against Rwanda in Uyo on September 6 in a World Cup qualifying game.
He was later left out of the team that played a 1-1 draw against South Africa three days later. He returned to his club and participated in the first team training four days ago.
After training, Buruk revealed that the Nigerian still strives, but will be evaluated before the UEFA Champions League party on Thursday in Germany.
“Osimhen’s situation will be clear in a few days. He has pain, we will see if he can handle. Icardi is not one hundred percent either. He wanted to keep it shorter, but our need for a goal extended the duration,” he said.
But despite openly quote the need to have the Nigerian available in the absence of Icardi, he has now decided to leave it totally out by not including it in the team for tomorrow’s game. The first this season at UEFA Champions League.
