Insurrection: DHQ establishes sector 4 in Adamawa

The Defense headquarters (DHQ) approved the establishment of sector 4 of the Operation Hadin Kai to face the security challenges in the northern state of Adamawa.

A declaration by the Defense Director Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, declared the head of the defense staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, revealed this weekend when it went to an operational visit to the State of Adamawa.

According to the declaration, the CDs also made a courtesy visit to the executive governor of the State of Adamawa, Ahmadu Umaru Fingi.

According to the CDS, the visit was intended to evaluate the operational readiness of the troops, understand their challenges and identify the areas that require further support.

Speaking at the Amawa Government House, General Musa praised the federal government for its continuous support for the armed forces of Nigeria (Afn), observing that this support has significantly improved operational results.

The CDs also thanked the governor for his continuous support to the members of the armed forces and the families of the victims.
He also underlined the double approach of the armed forces in the fight against insecurity; Kinetic and non -chinatic strategies.

He observed that although both are important, the non -Kinetic approach often produces more sustainable results.

General Musa highlighted the strong link between development and security, stating that when citizens benefit directly from governance, they are more likely to support and protect the system.
He identified poverty and illiteracy as the main drivers of insecurity, underlining that vulnerable populations are more easily recruited in groups of insurgents.

He also praised the people of the state of Adamawa for maintaining relative peace despite the security challenges across the country.

In his response, Fensi expressed the commitment of the state government in supporting the armed forces with tactical, strategic and logistical resources to strengthen the operations in progress.
He noticed an increase in terrorist activity within the state and reiterated the importance of a solid military presence. He also thanked the CDs for establishing sector 4 in the state.
The governor also revealed that he ordered that all the roads of the Gibson Jalo barracks were rehabilitated and announced the recruitment of local hunters to support the military in the fight against insecurity.

In the meantime, facing troops within the operating area, the CDs have announced plans to build further barracks and increase military presence in the state in response to the emerging threats identified in the region.

General Musa thanked the troops for their resilience, sacrifice and unshakable commitment.
In addition, the brigade general of the brigade commander 23 (BDE) OA AGWU informed the CDs about the operational activities of its area of operations.
In his response, the CDs praised officers and soldiers of 23 BDE for improving peace in the area.
The CDS also notified the brigade on the institution of the sector 4 Hadin Kai sector with Mubi offices.
The Chief of Defense also visited 153 groups of Nigeriran Air Force base services, to ascertain the state of its structures.
