Inter-area advice FCT makes women’s torrement: Kuje, Kwali, Amac, Gwagwalada hit the semifinal

The FCT women’s football tournament does inter-area, proudly organizing its Maiden Edition, has entered a new electrifying phase while four suspended-kuje, Kwali, Amac and Gwagwalada-Sono teams advance from the group stages to the semifinals.

The tournament has illuminated the communities throughout the territory of the federal capital, inspiring a renewed commitment to women’s empowerment through sport.

The semifinal will take place on Wednesday 23 April 2025 in the football field of Area 3 in Abuja.

Kuje’s women’s team will have to face Gwagwalada’s women’s team at 9:00, followed by the clash between the Amac women’s team and the Kwali women’s team at 10:00.

Speaking of the progress of the tournament, a member of the board of directors of the FCT FA and president of the Technical Committee, Patrick Bassey, he praised the game standard and the overall development.

“The girls showed an incredible determination and ability. The intensity of the games has shown us that there is a deep potential and not exploited in our communities. This tournament is already reaching what we have imagined, building a competitive spirit and a new future for women’s football in the FCT,” he said.

In an important show of commitment, Pat Ajuma Ayegba – sponsor of the tour, member of the board of directors of the FCT FA FA and president of the women’s football committee – respected his commitment of ₦ 720,000, providing ₦ 120,000 in subsidies to each of the six participating teams.

The gesture not only has increased morality, but has reaffirmed its dedication to the empowerment of girls through football.

“It was exciting for me to look at these girls to live their dreams. Many of them are entering a stadium for the first time. Happiness, pride and hope that bring their faces remember that this initiative is powerful. We are not just organizing tournaments or games: we are changing life,” he observed.

Speaking also, the president of the Bwari Football Council area, Felix Musa, whose team lost in a semifinal, refused to be disappointed while greeting the passion and investments of the member of the board of directors of the FCT Ayegba.

“Our girls have given everything and we are proud of how much they arrived. But this is only the beginning. We are already preparing for the next edition and we are determined to return and win the inaugural crown. We respect the competition, but Bwari will be ready to go all the way next time,” he said.

The winners will fight for the last prize in the historic final of Sunday 27 April 2024 with dignitaries of football circles and government circles that should participate.
