Politicogazette The editor -in -chief, Mr. Tony Ademiluyi, interviews his partner Erasmus Ikhide, who spoke of his initial beginning in journalism and his involvement in politics while the conversation flows
Que: in your younger days, you have worked for various media houses. What has journalism attracted you?
ANS: My first dream was to become a lawyer and a desire to become a senior supporter of Nigeria (San) until he hit the tragedy. I was informed by my deceased dad, Dr. Johnson Okpeku Ikhide, who regularly sent me copies of Watch News magazines to read. Like one of the greatest fans of Dele Gwa, with his column of Snaps Parallax, my father informed me that he was killed by a parcel bomb. The bad news sank my spirit and I began to have sleepless nights. This was the turning point for me. Before then I had become an avid reader of all the materials written. Then and then I decided to become a journalist and I started following the course even if my father also died a few weeks later.
Que: you are a journalist with online portal anti-corruption-Insights Trojan; What controversial stories did you do?
ANS: I am just a journalist with a news dress in a controversial country called Nigeria whose only air survives is corruption. There are countless controversial stories that have put me in trouble and miraculously came out of the traps of the corrupt oligarchs for pure provide race. But there are some aspects of modern journalism that intrigues, encourage, nourish and should even burn imminent journalists in a crime scene like Nigeria. Most of those who have been at the helm of the country’s current leadership since 1960 are direct brothers or their relatives. The records are there to demonstrate their guilt. For example, and interesting, the current national security councilor, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu is now part of the government and the majority of the political elite that once accused of corruption. Secondly, there are several ways in which stories can be reported without necessarily burning your figures. The new media have made it possible if you get my drift.
Que: you had a period in the government as a media assistant both for her partner Adams Oshiomhole and for Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Please share your experiences with both men.
ANS: Both Aregbesola and Oshiomhole are cunning and unique in their intrinsic ways. It is true that one is organic and clear while the other is unnecessarily self-reception. My experience in the political offices was only accidental and a derailment of the course already traced. I really would like to have not been named but elected in the positions I found at that moment.
Que: you had a running battle with Godwin Obaseki led by the government; Why was it so?*_
ANS: Governor Godwin Obaseki is the demon of the political history of Edo and Nigerian that some people are currently praising as a hero. In Dogs Climes, it should have been imprisoned by now. Unfortunately, we are in a country where the losers are returned since the winners and criminals are draped by royal chips. I have never seen such a degraded scammer in human flesh with hypotheses studied; Complexity in human behavior, clinically insidious and a psychopathic monster, throughout life. In 2016, Obaseki went to the house of the government of the Edo state on the wings of his godfather, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole. In 2020, after using oshiomhole as a burnt offer, he sang a slogan against the godfather. Incredibly in 2024, he became a godfather himself. His 8 years of deplorable fraud have recently been calculated by his predecessor, the Governor Okpebholo, having destroyed the education and everything that the citizens of the State have laboratory. His kingdom was apocalyptic.
Que: as a member of the Labor Party Card Card, why isn’t the party a virile opposition party?
ANS: The Nigerians have done political parties, the political parties do not do Nigerians. By this I mean the efforts of the Nigerians to establish the virile Labor party, progressive, organic and focused on people in 2023 by mainly the youngest number of citizens is celebratory, but unfortunately not enough. There are groups called “obedient movement”, which have openly dissociated and spaced by the Labor Party and the party leadership was lost in the labyrinth of the frenzy that was near the revolution in nature. The inability of the Labor Party to exploit the millions of young people who voted for Peter Obi in the presidential elections of 2023 and the inability of the Gen Z to differentiate between a political party and a simple solidarity of an individual like Peter Gregory Obi is the only reason for the stagnance and sterility of the Labor party. I just hope that the leadership of the Labor Party and what remains of the obedient movement understands it in their illuminated personal interest.
Que: What is your opinion on the removal of the subsidy of President Tinubu on his inauguration day?
ANS: My opinions on the removal of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of subsidy for fuel are public knowledge. In fact, there is no other matter that I have treated more aggressively than the unfortunate, dehumanizing, of burnt land and poorly thought in recent times. President Tinubu behaved like a madman who suddenly grabbed the steering of a stationery trailer without brake and crashed into a crowded market. The economy of the nation has never experienced such a sudden convulsion, leading to the collapse of both human and national economies. The worst appearance of the reckless scenario was the open defense that his minds mounted as if the rest of us was as ourselves like the brain. I concluded, as regards the episode of the economic turbulence of the fuel subsidies, there is nothing cannot destroy and defenses. Most of those in the APC and Tinubu administration knows it, but they are afraid of losing patronage in the spheres of the nation economy.
Que: what is your opinion on the student loan scheme of the Tinubu Administration?*_
ANS: The student loan scheme of the administration of President Tinubu is not bad in itself, but the challenges that afflict it are legions. It is just like the policy of transfer in cash failure of the administration of President Bohari in which the databases were evoked without a single individual on the street who has ever admitted that he had received the transfer in cash. First of all, how do you find such a policy that worries about the population of 37.5%, or aged between 14 and 30 years of the nation population without transporting the critical interested parties? Practically all those who should have interacted and engaged in politics said they know nothing about it.
In addition, politics simply put the cart in front of the horse and there was no clear mode on the refund plans. Currently, 43% of the country’s population are under 14 years old and 33% between 15 and 24 years old, with this growth trend which should continue at least until 2050, since the population of the country continues to grow at an annual rate of 2.3% (Undesa, 2022). Between 2010 and 2030, about 66 million people should join the ranks of the population of Nigeria’s working age. While some see the uniqueness and scope of the “demographic swelling” of Africa as an overrated, in the political circles in Nigeria. A young workforce is seen as a huge resource for engineer regional growth. A thought of similar development is evident in international organizations such as the defense of the World Bank on the development of young people’s abilities through health and education investments.
Que: Is the Tinubu administration really fighting corruption? _*
ANS: What makes you think that Tinubu would ever fight corruption? Ask me if the administration of Tinubu is really fighting corruption is rhetoric. You can go and ask Mr. Danladi Umar of the Code of Conduct Court, who attracted President Tinubu in 2014 and was prevented from completing his mandate in office for the president in 2014. Instead of the best anti -corruption Zarc, Abdulrasheed Bawa, who was resolved due to his accused accused of Tinubu before the country. It is obvious that the war against the graft is an alleged marathon match without taking a distance. Until President Tinubu declares his assets, which is the standard practice and is investigated or has allowed himself to be investigated, the entire preaching on the anti -corruption struggle is Hogwash.
Que: how is the senator on Monday Okpebholo goes as governor of the Edo state?
ANS: 100 days are not enough to review an administration that is presumably destined to run for four years, discovering all circumstances.
Que: Can the PDP cause a disturbance to the Petitions Court of the Edo state elections in Abuja?
ANS: Even if I were an angel or a Malaika, I cannot predict the result of the electoral court since the Nigerian judiciary has chosen to become the destroyer of the hope of the Municipality. In any case, something tells me that one day the judiciary will put Nigerian flames.
Que: on a final note, are journalists do good politicians?
ANS: Journalists can create the best politicians in every respect. Segun Oosoba was governor of the state of Ogun and Buni Haruna in the state of Adamawa and many others. Lateef Kayode Jakande was probably the best governor of the state of Lagos, Bisi Onabanjo made his best as a governor of the state of Ogun, Alh Lam Adhesin of the State of Oyo and Capo Anthony Eromosele Enahoro was an exceptional fame politician.
