The International Olympic Committee (Cio) and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) have announced the kick -off of the early management course at the University of Ibadan.
This was disclosed in a statement from the NOC spokesman, Tony Nezianya on Wednesday 16 April 2025.
This event should work from 6 to 8 May 2025.
The declaration states in part: “It promises to provide sports administrators with essential tools for effective management in the sports scene in constant evolution.
“As the participants settle in the Council room, a hybrid configuration both on site and virtual would work perfectly in an atmosphere that would be guided by a sense of purpose.
“The representatives of various states exchange ideas and experiences, united with a common goal: to raise the sports administration standards in Nigeria.
“The third ASMC module would focus on two critical areas: to manage finance and sports marketing.
“These topics are fundamental in promoting solid administrative structures that serve athletes and stakeholders.
“The rich and different bullets of the participants would make a dynamic exchange in the perspectives while stabilizing, ready to absorb knowledge from distinct people of resources.
“The course will begin with Mr Tunji Adeyinka, CEO of the Group of the Republicom group.”
The facilitators of the program include Prof. Clement Fasan and Dr. Jonathan Dyagas, Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, among others.
“With years of experience in marketing, Adeyinka hopes to fascinate participants with its intuitions on marketing strategies that can actually improve the visibility of sports organizations.
“It is hoped that his compelling anecdotes and cases study interests and debates, pushing the participants to think innovatively to how they can apply these concepts in their contexts.
“The next on the agenda would be Mrs. Bodunrin Olaniipekun, a renowned figure in the sports community and a former students of the Cio advanced sport management course.
“He would share his personal journey, illustrating the transformative impact of an effective sports administration.
“His presentation would resonate with the public and underlined the importance of resilience and adaptability in a sector that changes continuously.
“The facilitators of the program include Prof. Clement Fasan and Dr. Jonathan Dyagas while bringing their wealth of knowledge and experience to discussions.
“Prof. Clement is a compliant certified course course; he would have guided the participants through the complexities of financial management in the sports sector.
“He will encourage participants to develop strategic financial plans that align themselves with the visions of their organizations.
“In the meantime, Dr. Dyagas, director of the finance of the association of the National Olympic Committees of Africa (Anoca).
“With his rich background in finance, Dr. Dyagas would have challenged the participants to re -evaluate conventional practices and to adopt modern techniques that could produce sustainable growth.
“Throughout the course, the participants would work in practical seminars, group discussions and networking sessions that promote the collaboration and sharing of ideas.
“The hybrid format will be a significant advantage, allowing international experts and local supporters to contribute remotely, filling the gap between expert professionals and aspiring administrators.
“With the approach of the last day, the participants reflect on their learning and on the connections that hope to forge.
“Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, president of the Olympic Committee Nigeria, will attend the conclusion of the course.
“The course will eventually archive a vision for a flourishing sports sector in Nigeria, one who is well managed, financially solid and oriented to cultivate athletic talents,” concluded the declaration.
