IPOB entered Amnesty Int’l to connect the group to the imo attack

The native people of Biafra (IPOB), have condemned the Global Human Rights Organization, Amnesty International (AI), for what was described in a hurry to connect last Thursday’s attack by armed people in the Okigwe region in the IMO state with their groups and militant wings, the East Security Network (ESN).

Some trucks were burned and several people were killed in the attack.

Ai Nigeria’s arm, in a statement on Friday, condemned the attack he said carried out by Ipob and ESN.

But in a statement issued Saturday night by the Secretary of the Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, Ipob described AI’s statement not only wrong but aimed at tarnishing the group image by describing it as a group of violence.

Strong states that as a group of human rights, AI has long lost credibility with hobbbing with the Nigerian government, adding that it is no longer a human rights group that is considered serious and reliable longer.

The Pro-BIFRA group notes that it is “worrying and involving that the human rights group that should be the Amnesty International Nigeria, will bend very low so that it is in harmony with extortion of IPOB and ESN, using media manipulation to tarnish the image of responsible group.”

“Dear family and movement of the Biafra indigenous people, Ipob, globally condemned what can be called a terrorist attack sponsored by the state of civilians along the Okigwe-Urli road in the IMO state on May 8, 2025,” wrote a strong.

“Simultaneously, we condemn all forms of media extortion aimed at Ipob and ESN, especially from Amnesty International Nigeria, for accusing and highlighting Ipob and ESN as violators in the crime.

“It is very tragic that the government has repeatedly carried out terrorist attacks on its own people just to force Ipob to submit.

“Since 2021, the state has funded various criminal acts of violence in the Southeast East region, using several irresponsible media and fake rights groups to link the criminal attack with IPOB and ESN to avoid investigations.

“Included in the violence, the Nigerian government at all levels has sponsored and connected IPOB, is the escape of the Otrri prison, which lasted for more than four hours without any responses from security forces, although many Nigerian security personnel were present in and around the Onturri region.

“We also remember the political murder of Alhaji Ahmed Gulak in Oower, which was invited to the state by Governor Hope Uzodinma, without providing security to him.

“The recruitment of criminals who aggressively uphold sitting at home and destroy the ORSU community and so on, and the recruitment of the IMO state government with the guise of Ebubeagu and Asawana, militias, has resulted in foreign murder of many IGBO youth.

“Deceptive operations in ABA on Biafra Heroes’ Day, May 30, 2024, caused the death of 4 IGBO soldiers who were used as victims of sacrifice.

“Allegations of murder of 30 people and burning vehicles belonging to people along Jalan Okigwe-Uli in the State of IMO on May 8, 2025, are plans to ambush the IPOB and ESN operators locally and internationally.

“In all violations of this violence, the Nigerian government and several media outlets biased in Nigeria associated all crimes with Ipob and ESN, which were followed by Amnesty International for minor prizes and peanuts from the Nigerian government and the IMO state government.

“However, as a peaceful self-determination movement, we have separated from all these claims and Amnesty International cannot claim that they do not know that members of Ipob and ESN are not involved in murder and insecurity that occurred since 2021 to today. We are innocent for every accusation by the Federal Nigerian and Amnighye prizes.

“We have also requested that the International and Independent Investigation Agency, not people like Amnesty International Nigeria, were brought to examine all these violations Ipob and ESN were accused.

“Unfortunately, the Nigerian government and their violence security forces have never investigated violations before the agent and groups paid accused IPOB.

“They blame Ipob and ESN for all their mistakes just to avoid supervision because the state is involved or play a key role in this violation.

“IPOB has faced many media attacks that are sponsored by the state and accusations that are intimidated by the destruction of various media outlets compromised in Nigeria, which has been turned into a method for them to get profit from the corrupt Nigerian government.

“As a dedicated and responsible movement, we have protected ourselves by exposing all of their fabrication in their media and fraud created.

“This is worrying and involves that the human rights organization that should be like Amnesty International Nigeria will bend so low so that it harmonizes with extortion of ESN by using media manipulation to damage the innocent vigilante, while allowing Fulani’s terrorists to attack Ndigbo that is not exposed”.

“With this development, Amnesty International Nigeria has reduced its credibility as a reliable human rights organization, and the result is people who do not consider it seriously in the activism of rights.

“Amnesty International Nigeria has been ensnared in corruption and bribery in the Nigerian system. They have been ensnared in corruption and bribery of the Nigerian government and are now against the free press.

“If the Amnesty International Nigeria is free from corruption, this previously honorable human rights organization will demand an independent investigation of this terrible terrorist attack on civilians in the southeast before connecting IPOB and ESN members and may not be rushed to conclusions such as other Nigerian coalition groups that are controlled tightly with IPOB and ESN.

“We have never targeted our recognized enemies, let alone endangering innocent people who travel from Okigwe to Otower in our region. All media attacks that use human rights groups such as Amnesty International Nigeria to force IPOB to produce ineffective from the beginning.

“We will continue with all aspects of truth and we will survive in demanding an independent investigation of all acts of secret violence sponsored by the state against civilians in the Southeast Eastern region.

“We also urge Amnesty International to ask the independent investigation team who are committed to examining the attack on Okigwe, and they will be ashamed because they bring Ipob and ESN, because the Nigerian government has no sincerity”.
