The IGBO separatist group is forbidden, the native of Biafra (IPOB), has threatened to take legal action against the IMO State Commissioner, CP Danjuma Aboki, and the State Police Command if they do not withdraw the statement of defamation that connects the group with this new murder in the local government of Ehime Mbano in the state.
Armed people, on Wednesday, July 23, surrounded the Umualauku community in the council, releasing continuous shot clocks in the community, killing several people who lead to panic and chaos in the community.
After the incident, a spokesman for the state police, ASP Henry Okoye, in a statement, accused that the attackers were suspected of Ipob members and militia arms, ESN.
But in a statement on Saturday which eliminated allegations of accusations by the Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, Ipob gave Aboki seven days to withdraw the statement and issued public apologies for the alleged falsity or face legal action.
In the statement, Ipob accused the Federal Government and the Nigerian security agency in managing the massacre of civilians in Mbano, accused of being a deliberate step to discredit groups and suppress Biafra’s agitation.
He also blamed the state police command to blame Ipob and ESN for the attack without evidence or credible investigation.
Strong also describes the accusation as part of the old pattern of violence supported by the state aimed at silencing the Biafra Movement.
“This is a tired and produced narrative that now functions as a protection for mass murder and political manipulation approved by the state,” Power told the statement.

“Every time the legal argument for the liberation of our leader gets momentum, the state of Nigeria committed violence and bloodshed in the southeast.
“This murder was then cynically armed to discredit IPOB, divert public attention, and make approval for sustainable detention and persecution.
“We stated firmly that Ipob was not involved in such violence. MR. Aboki actions slandered, incite, and evil. They violated the assumption of innocence and were part of a broader propaganda campaign to thwart our peace advocacy.
“If he fails to withdraw this lie in 7 days, Ipob will drag him to court and hug him personally for damage to reputation and defamation under Nigerian law.
“Let the world record: the slaughter of innocent people at Igboland will never be forgotten. We hold the Nigerian country and their collaborators in the southeast of which are responsible.
“We reject this false attribution, and we challenge Nigerian police to present evidence in court, not a press statement, if indeed Ipob or ESN can be blamed.
“We will not tolerate slander or scapegoat further. The blood of our people should not be used to clean up failed security operations and political inability.
“Every act of oppression only strengthens our determination. Every innocent life loss of justice of justice. And justice will definitely come,” said the strong.
