Israel said he had taken the body of a Thai hostage who was kidnapped to Gaza on October 7.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that the body of Nattapong Pinta was returned Israel “In Special Military Operations”.
Mr Pinta, who has a wife and son, was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz and was killed in detention near the beginning of the war, the government said.
Thai people are the largest group of foreigners who are detained by Hamas militant.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the corpse of Pinta was taken from the Rafah area. The 36 -year -old player went to Israel to work on agriculture.
Mr. Katz wrote in a post on X: “I sent my deepest condolences to his wife, his little son, and his family, and I thank our heroic fighters who operate under fire many times to bring back all the hostages, driven by a deep moral commitment.
“We will not rest until all the hostages, who live and fall, are returned to Israel.”
The hostage family forum said in a statement: “We stand with the Nattapong family today and share in their sadness.
“While the pain is very large, his family will eventually have certainty after a terrible and painful 20 months in destroying uncertainty.
“Every family deserves certainty to start their personal healing journey.
“We once again emphasize that the decision maker must do everything needed to reach an agreement that will bring back all the remaining 55 hostages – life for rehabilitation and the deceased for the right burial.”
Fifty -five hostages remain in Gaza, including Israel said more than half of them were dead.
On Thursday, Israel took the corpse of Gad Haggai and Gambling Weinstein HaggaiBoth have the citizenship of Israel and the US.
On Saturday at least 15 Palestinians were killed and 50 people were injured by air strikes in the Gaza Sabra City District in the northern Gaza Strip, the local health authority said.
The Israeli military did not immediately comment.
