Iwobi’s strike is not enough when Fulham falls against Chelsea in western London Derby

The midfielder of the Super Eagles, Alex Iwobi, was in Fulham’s target in his narrow 2-1 defeat against Chelsea in Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

Despite opening the score in the derby, the Cottagers got rid of two late goals, including a detention time strike that gave Chelsea to the three points.

Iwobi, making its 31st start in 33 Premier League matches this season, gave Fulham the advantage in the 20th minute.

After controlling a loose ball on the edge of the box, the Nigerian international gave a quick touch before sending a precise end to the farthest corner of his ninth goal of the campaign.

Its objective continues what its most productive season has been in the highest English category. In addition to its objectives, Iwobi has contributed five assists, overcoming its previous totals in Arsenal and Everton.

Fulham began brilliantly in the derby and thought they had taken an early advantage in the fourth minute, just so that Var does not allow the goal. Even so, his persistence was worth it when Iwobi broke the dead point in the middle of the first half.

However, Chelsea found a return path. With the qualification of the Champions League in sight, Manager Enzo Maresca presented Jadon Sancho and bad taste in an attempt to cause the attack.

But it was Tyrique George, 18, eligible for Nigeria, who restored parity for visitors with a well -taken goal.

In the detention time, Chelsea broke Fulham’s hearts with a radical counterattack. Cole Palmer led the forward movement and found Enzo FernΓ‘ndez to the right, who then square the ball to net for a compound ending to seal the victory.

The result takes Chelsea to the fifth at the Premier League table, just one point behind Manchester City, strengthening her hopes of the Champions League.

For Fulham, who currently feels ninth, Iwobi’s shape is still a brilliant point. The Super Eagles star will be crucial as their impulse continue for a possible European place in the last weeks of the season.
