Some candidates who have obtained a score greater than 340 in the unified Tertiary registration examination of 2025 (UTME) conducted by the joint admissions and enrollment commission (Jamb) have revealed their successful secrets.
Jamb had revealed that only 4,756 of 1,955,069 candidates, who represent 0.24 percent, have scored 320 and beyond.
Speaking in Ibadan, the capital of the State of Oyo, Thursday 15 May 2025, some candidates who obtained a score greater than 340 and had over 90 marks in mathematics attributed their success to hard work.
Candidates also identified prayer and commitment like other secrets behind their stories.
Temiloluwa Afolabi, a 15 -year -old aspiring computer engineer of the Oitamefa Baptist Model School, Ibadan, said he had scored 98 in mathematics and 363 in total through Ostiglia and prayer.
Afolabi has noticed the power of vision and remaining concentrated on anything you prepare to do.
“Having in mind the goal and looking at him, believing that he will meet; then to work towards it is the secret of success,” said Afolabi.
He urged other students to pray and study hard with their strictly recorded goals in their minds.
The student added: “If you can’t see it, you can’t get it. This is something I learned – if you can’t see what you want, you can’t get what you want.
“So if you have in mind the image that this is what I want to get, then you have to work towards it.”
Likewise, the sixteen year old Olanwaju Okubanjo of the Christ Ambassadors International College of Ibadan has attributed his success to hard work.
Okubanjo, who wishes to study mechanical engineering at the Pan Atlantic University, said that his hard work and prayers have made his fruits with a score of 97 in mathematics and 360 in total.
He said: βI continued to work hard, reading my textbooks still and again, and then I continued to ask past questions.
“I also continued to pray to God, and it came out well, I am grateful to God.”
The student also urged his colleagues to continue reading and practicing, ensuring them of success in the end.
“It’s just a phase; in the end it will be worth it,” he said.
In the meantime, the fifteen year old Bogotinjetoluwa Ayodeji-Driving has attributed his success to God and the support of his family and teachers.
Ayodeji-Aletuyi of the Christ Ambassadors International College, Ibadan, who scored 98 in mathematics and 345 in total, said he had imagined what he wanted and worked hard.
He said: βI tried the practice exams, in essence, every day.
“I started working on my score with a plan on how to get higher votes.”
Ayodeji-Aletuyi, who aspires to be an expert in robotics and artificial intelligence, has unjust his companions to practice mathematics daily.
He said: βI want to tell other students to plan and develop a daily goal, avoiding apologies that will not make them achieve their goals.
βFor me, this includes the resolution of mathematical problems every day.
“This is one of the things I do that helped me in my mathematics.”
