Jamb warned the institution for reception deviations

The Joint Acceptance and Matriculation Council (Jamb) on Monday, warns several higher institutions to violate the revenue regulations.

The council describes the behavior of the institution as a “deviation” and directs them to improve violations within seven days.

The affected institutions, who were called to meetings with the council on August 18, claimed to have failed to upload their list of matriculation despite receiving the central acceptance processing system (CAPS).

According to Jamb’s Weekly Bulletin which was released on Monday, institutions -institutions submitted an apology and appealed for the relief of punishment.

Clerk Jamb, Prof. Is-Haq Oloyede, condemning violations, emphasizing that institutions are legally bound to comply with the provisions of section 23, paragraph 7 of the admission guidelines.

“You make reception on a hat but you do not include students. We feel that before we continue the report to the government, we must interact with you,” Oloyede said.

He reminded the institution that all matriculation lists must be submitted to Jamb for analysis before the matriculation ceremony was approved.

“Every candidate whose name is not in the list of national matriculation will be considered not accepted by Jamb, and its acceptance is invalid. There is no illegal recognition like that that will be forgiven,” he warned.

Registrar further warns that such violations can expose institutions for lawsuits from students who lose their rights in addition to regulatory sanctions.

At the end of the meeting, institutions agree to:

  • Send a formal apology to the hat within 24 hours;
  • Upload all the extraordinary lists of matriculation within seven days on August 18, 2025; And
  • Make sure the affiliate institution operates strictly under its parent institution, which is supervised by the appointed officer.

Jamb, however, notes that the apology of the institution will provide a basis for entering the matriculation list “accordingly,” an action aimed at overcoming violations without punishing innocent students.
