US Vice President JD Vance has made a “power step” that marks him as a favorite to become the next candidate for the President of the Republic, according to the former party leader.
Ronna McDaniel tells Sky News Trump 100 Podcast “The money will have” Vance becomes the next candidate after his appointment as Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) finance.
McDaniel, who was the head of the RNC for seven years until 2024, described it as “the power movement from a political point of view and someone who understood how the rules were made”.
This is the first time a vice president who sits serving as a financial chair.
According to McDaniel, it reflects political awareness and ambition.
“Understanding the process, which is boring and very technical – and most people do not understand how RNC works – it is a big step this week JD “To take over as a financial chair,” he told Trump 100.
“This has never happened in the history of the party, where the Vice President said, ‘I will be a financial leader for the National Party’. So what does that mean? That means he will interact with all big investors who lead to 2028. He will know them intimately.
“But more importantly, in the next two years, the Republican National Committee will pass the rules that will regulate the main process for 2028. What countries will be the first? What preliminary selection will be the first?
“The whole process will be passed in two years by various state parties throughout the country.
“JD will have access to every member of the RNC and the Chairperson of the Republican National Committee who will make the government’s rules. That shows you, the strength he has today.”
Donald Trump Already, previously, shrinking the prospect of Vance for the top work.
In the new Fox News interview, he was asked whether he saw Vance as a candidate for Republican 2028 and he answered: “No, but he is very capable.”
He added: “So far, I think he did a very fantastic job. This is too early; we just started.”
Trump himself has, once again, refuses to put aside running for the third term of office in the office, although it is prohibited by the US Constitution, which sets a maximum of two.
