The state government of Jigawa has ordered a female security guard who was recruited to wear a hijab at their duties.
Governor Umar Namadi Baru -Newly approved the recruitment of around 10,000 people as security guards in schools and hospitals in all states.
Commissioner of Information, Sports and Youth Culture, Sagir Musa, revealed this to reporters after the meeting of the State Executive Council on Wednesday in Dutse.
He said Governor Namadi directed three private security companies operating in the state to allow their female workers to wear the hijab on duty.
Musa said the decision followed the report presented by the School Council, Hospital and Court Security Committee.
According to him, the decision will increase the morals and confidence of women’s security operations in the state.
“By allowing women’s security operations to wear the hijab, the government empowers them to practice their religious and cultural beliefs without limits.
“These companies allow women’s security operations among 9,969 young people who are recruited to wear the hijab while on duty, as accommodation of religion and culture,” said the Commissioner.
