Jorg Potreck appointed as new general manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja

Jorg Potreck has been appointed as the new General Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, succeeding Burlent Tarlan who completed his tenure.

Potreck has over forty years of extensive experience in the hospitality industry, including 20 years as a general manager in various global locations such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, South Africa and Egypt.

Potreck joins Hilton from his recent role as General Manager at Johari Rotana in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

His career in the hospitality industry began in 1982 as a management trainee in Germany, before moving to his first general manager position at the Westin Leipzig, Germany in 2004.

His notable previous roles include Cluster General Manager at Hilton Hurghada Plaza and Hilton Alexandria Corniche in Egypt, as well as Cluster General Manager at Hilton Cologne and Hilton Bonn in Germany.

In his new role at Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Potreck will oversee a team of over 1,800 members, managing all operational and business aspects to increase guest satisfaction.

Transcorp Hilton Abuja, located in Nigeria’s capital and business district, offers 667 rooms and suites, seven restaurants and bars and extensive leisure and recreational facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool, gym and shopping arcade.

The property also features a 24-hour Executive Lounge and 20 multipurpose meeting rooms, including a conference center that can accommodate up to 1,200 people.

Owned by Transcorp Hotels Plc., it is operated by Hilton as part of its Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.
