Gospel music minister and worship leader Josh O’maiye has released his long-awaited single “Being Good.”

“Being Good” was canceled after a very difficult few months. I lost my mother in very sudden circumstances in December 2023 and we had to immediately prepare for her burial. There were no funds saved for this purpose and in terms of preparation for that sort of thing, there was very little. But soon things started to fall into place and my brothers and I managed remarkably well. Basically, there was a reserve.

Soon I began to reflect on how things had turned out. I was obviously not thrilled about the loss of my mother, but soon my reflections began to clear the darkness from my mind and I began to count one, two, three things that God had done for me in the previous year. I started a new job, entered into a very beneficial relationship that is leading to marriage, and financially, things have improved. I came to the conclusion that despite my loss, there were other things that had worked for me and that God was still in the room, doing good, caring for me, and helping me.

Ultimately, “Being Good” is a song that acknowledges that it’s been God all along. We don’t always look like what we’ve been through, and that’s because God is still in the room, “Being Good” for us. This song is for everyone who has a testimony. It’s for everyone who looks back and sees God in the room. Through the storms and complexities and uncertainties of life. He’s been good to you. Hasn’t He?” Josh said.

Josh O’maiye has been around gospel music since birth. Born to parents who were ministers, he spent his childhood free time listening to great legends like Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, and John P. Kee. After discovering the stage at the age of 7, Josh stood out as an artist and began developing his craft as a gospel rock singer and spirited worship leader. In college, he was a member of the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students, where he served as the music director for over 2 years. Despite not fully focusing his attention on music, Josh has maintained his commitment to God by churning out inspiring releases every now and then, including his most recent single “Goshen” featuring Philipage, released in 2023.

Josh is currently a member of the choir at Elevation Church in Maryland and is working on his debut album, “The Good Album,” due out later this year.
