Judicial workers suspend the strike after CJN’s intervention

The union of the judicial staff of Nigeria (Jusun) suspended his strike at national level which began on Monday 2 June 2025.

Jusun announced the suspension in a commission published after his meetings with the representatives of the chief judge of Nigeria (CJN), the judge Kudirat Kekere-Eekun, in Abuja, Tuesday 3 June.

The commission signed by all the shareholders present stated that the suspension was after long resolutions on issues that led to the declaration of industrial action by the Union.

According to the press release, parts of the agreement reached included Jusun forced the intervention of CJN, Minister of Labor and Remarkation, Muhammad Dingyadi, NLC and other parties interested in a month for the negotiations.

“Involve the federal government to issue funds to the judiciary within a month and that at the time of the release of the funds, the requests from the Jusun will be implemented immediately,” he added.

The press release added that consequently the commitment of the CJN, the judicial workers, after due consideration, agreed to suspend the ongoing strike.

Jusun, therefore, ordered his members to resume work on Wednesday 4 June.
