The union of the judicial staff of Nigeria (Jusun) has directed its members in all federal courts at national level and other judicial institutions to withdraw their services from June 2.
Mustapha Laminu, national vice president, North Central, said this in a declaration signed and released on Friday in Abuja.
Laminu said that the strike became an imperative to press home his requests since their members have not yet received the wage premium of a month recently paid by the government.
According to him, this action is to protest against the non -payment of five months of arrears of the wage premium, the non -implementation of N70,000 national minimum wages and the non -implementation of the salary increase of 25/35 percent.
“The Union had struck the direction on the need to see the reasons up to 21 days ultimatum, seven days of ultimatum and had to set aside the action following the intervention of my Lord, the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
βIt is a pity that the judiciary, as a government arm, is punished while other government weapons have enjoyed since then.
βEverything we are saying is that our members are stinging us, accusing us to compromise considering the difficulties made by government policies.
“We will continue this action until the government will not pay for this money,” he said.
Laminu said he collected that the Ministry of Finance had issued the new amount to the general accounting of the Federation, but refused to pay the judiciary.
He then invited all the presidents of chapters to guarantee compliance with the directive.
