Just in: Sole Administrator Rivers suspends SSG, Commissioners, others appointed

The only administrator of the State of the Rivers, the deputy deputy admiral Ibas Ibas, suspended all political holders and offices in the state with immediate effect.

In a declaration on Wednesday, the head of the staff to the administrator declared that the decision was made based on the powers granted to Ibas by President Bola Tinubu.

The affected people include the secretary of the state government, the head of the staff, all the commissioners, presidents and members of councils, agencies, commissions and parastal, as well as all special consultants, special assistants and special senior assistants.

The declaration ordered officials suspended to deliver to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries, departments and agencies (MDA).

“Where no permanent secretary is in place, the highest director or head of the administration will take the leadership,” says the declaration.
