The musician veteran Fuji, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has released a formal response to the accident that has been involved and officials of the airlines at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The federal authority of the airports of Nigeria (Faan) had accused K1 of paying alcohol on the officials of Abuja airport.
The Faan said that the accident occurred when the officials attempted to verify the content of a ball with which the musician wanted to travel.
Reacting in a statement issued by his media helper, Kunle Rasheed, Wednesday 6 August 2025, said he had never shown unruly behaviors while trying to board a flight of Valorijet Tuesday 5 August.
Rasheed said that Faan’s declaration on the accident was not “exaggerated but also misleading”.
He said: “At no time K1 has acted so as to endanger life or violated the safety rules.
“The substance in question – which was erroneously sensationalized – was nothing more than drinking water, which was given to him in the airport room while waiting to get on board the aircraft. Despite his respectful effort to clarify this, the situation was unnecessarily intensified.”
Rasheed also described the accusations according to which K1 blocked the plane and attempted to interrupt the operations as unfounded, adding: “The veteran artist, who is respected globally and often travels both local and internationally, includes and strictly adheres to the aeronautical protocols.
“If there really had been something inappropriate in his conduct, the head of airport security, the officials of interested agencies such as Faan and NCAA, as well as the president and the CEO of the airline, would not personally reach the appeal and the capture of a Persuina, for the organization of a read, for having dedicated the most loose, the K1, for the organization of a Lagos. Offer.
“It should also be stressed that K1 was the victim of this accident. No one else that he and his personal assistant were directly involved.
“Some interested passengers who attended the accident in the first person appeal to remain calm, recognizing the undue pressure in which he was below.
“In light of recent developments, it is important to note that the pilot involved now has its suspended license. Give the circumstances, it is not surprising if it tries to deflect the fault – surely, it must lie to cover.
“We urge the media and the public to avoid sensationalism and allow the truth, not to the hypotheses – to guide their judgment.
“K1 remains a citizen respectful of the law and continues to cooperate fully with all the relevant authorities to ensure that the issue is resolved responsible.”
