Kaduna: Chikun/Kajuru bye election records low turnout at the polls

The election of Ciao for the federal electoral college of Chikun/Kajuru in the state of Kaduna on Saturday was marked by a low electoral turnout through the electoral units, even if some dedicated residents presented themselves soon to vote.

At the 014 electoral unit, Sabon Tasha Ward in the local government area of Chikun (LGA), electoral officials arrived by 8:15.

At 9:30 in the morning, only a handful of voters had arrived.

Grace Daniel, who showed up shortly after 8:30 in the morning, said he had come out soon and even jumped breakfast to make sure he could vote.

“I came out hungry, but I couldn’t go home without trying to express my vote,” said Daniel.

“I hope the others will follow soon.”

Another first voter, Ibrahim James, complained of the low turnout but remained confident.

“Many people have not yet gone out, perhaps because of past experiences or lack of awareness, but I think it will join before the end of the day,” he said.

Through other electoral centers of the electoral college, the officials were seen lazily waiting for a dripping of voters to make their way to the electoral units.

Observers have observed that the final result of the farewell elections could largely depend on the fact that the turnout improved as the day advances.
