Kano Govt orders new names to declare activities

The government of the State of Kano has ordered all the owners of political offices just appointed to immediately declare their activities with the code of conduct (CCB) as part of the efforts to promote transparency and responsibility in governance.

The directive was announced on Friday by the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, during a special capacity construction workshop for the best government officials in Kaduna.

According to him, the measure aims to guarantee the opening in the financial relations of public officials, prevent conflicts of interest and strengthen good government throughout the state.

“All the appointed politicians recently appointed by the government of the State of Kano are aimed at immediately declaring their activities with the Code of Code of conduct,” said the SSG, underlining that the exercise is both a legal requirement and a reflection of integrity and responsibility in the public service.

He reiterated the commitment of the governor Abbar Kabir Yusuf to support transparency and to apply high ethical standards in the public administration.

The directive coincided with the oath of two newly confirmed commissioners: the lawyer Abdulkarim Kabir Maude, San Designete, as a commissioner for justice and the attorney general and dr. Aliyu Isa-Aliyu, associate professor and general statistical, as a commissioner for the development of Livestock.

In addition, the lawyer Salisu Muhammad Tahir has made an oath as a lawyer general and permanent secretary, the Ministry of Justice.

The move underlines the determination of the government of the state of Kano to strengthen the paintings of responsibility and institutional reforms in its public service.
