According to the report, the Commissioner agreed to guarantee the deposit for Mr. Danwawu, a high-profile suspicion targeted by the anti-pharmaco campaign of the government of the state of Kano, after receiving the money.
The SSS is said to have conducted a discreet investigation and recommended the dismissal of Namadi to the governor Abba Yusuf.
Namadi had previously been declared sought for fraud in 2013 before his recent appointment by the Governor Yusuf, according to the insistence of the leader of Nnpp Rabiu Kwankwaso. Despite the initial anger for the commissioner’s actions, the governor delayed any disciplinary action pending consultations with Kwankwaso.
“The governor sees the action of the commissioner as a direct betrayal of the anti -drug position of his administration,” said a source close to the matter.
“The involvement of Namadi contradicts a permanent resolution of the state security council to break down the network of illicit drug operations of Danwawu in Kano.”
Sources have also revealed a growing friction between Namadi and the main parties concerned, including the Nurtw President of the State Kabiru Labor, for a controversial N500,000 monthly withdrawal imposed on the Union.
In the Ministry, according to reports, the commissioner put aside the permanent secretary, Abdulmumin Babani, contributing to administrative stagnation.
It is said that over 30 memo of the Ministry of Transport are delayed, marked “maintain in sight”, “see” or left not approved by the governor.
Recently, a note for the purchase of solar energy tricycles was presented to the state executive council by another ministry, which biceed the Ministry of Transport completely.
When he was contacted, Namadi denied all the accusations, saying: “I’m not aware of all the accusations you mentioned. It’s not true.” Shortly thereafter, the state commissioner for information, Ibrahim Waiya, called the journalist behind the story, accusing them of harassment and questioning their intentions.
The scandal began on July 24 that Namadi had risked guarantee for Danwawu following a judgment of the judge of judge shu’aibu of the Federal High Court, Kano. The judge had imposed rigorous deposit conditions that required the accused to produce a commissioner in the service and a deposit of ₦ 5 million.
In a letter of July 18, 2025 and obtained exclusively, Mr. Namadi wrote to the court forming formally to serve as a surety and swore a sworn declaration of means to support his question.
Since then the governor has created an investigative panel with a week’s deadline to present his results.
The result of the probe can determine the future of the Commissioner Unboted, whose appointment and conduct have aroused public indignation and renewed requests for political responsibility in the State of Kano. [The Star]
