Forward, Kelechi Iheanacho is on the verge of returning to full fitness, ensuring his availability for Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign in Cote d’Ivoire.

Iheanacho, had been absent from Leicester City’s squad due to a muscular injury.

 

The injury had raised concerns about his participation in the upcoming AFCON 2023, but the Attacker is recovering swiftly, having commenced running exercises as part of his rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, there is optimism that he will be fully ready to join the Super Eagles in Lagos, where the team is scheduled to be hosted to a dinner on January 9.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s potential return is a significant boost to Nigeria’s prospects in the upcoming continental competition.

The Super Eagles are currently in Dubai gearing up for their AFCON 2023 finals campaign, and the team will kick off their tournament against Equatorial Guinea at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, on January 14.
