Keyamo Slams Releases Unconscious Passenger Videos, Ordering Disciplinary Actions

Aviation and Aerospace Development Minister, Festus Keyamo, has strongly condemned the video release of a video showing the indecent passengers who could not be regulated during the incident on the IBOM airline flight, calling it at all unacceptable “and directed that those who were responsible for facing sanctions.

Passengers, identified as Miss Comfort Emmanson, were also known as Comfort Bob, allegedly attacking flight crew and land staff on August 10, 2025, during the trip from UYO to Lagos on flights from the IBOM3 airline Q153.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Monday, Keyamo admitted that recording his behavior was needed for legal action but emphasized that making public recordings inappropriate.

“While we support the making of his stubborn behavior as evidence to sue him, what is sad is releasing evidence that contains indecent exposure to the public to mock him. That is not at all acceptable to us. We will not fold our arms and tolerate debasing debasis,” Keyamo said.

He further directed, “Because of that, I have directed that anyone who released a part of the video that contains an indecent exposure among staff must be chosen and subject to adequate sanctions.”

Keyamo also instructed airlines to improve staff training in public relations and in managing volatile situations. He announced that a joint security meeting involving related institutions would take place next week to improve coordination in aviation security.

Giving further details about the incident, the Minister explained that it happened at around 14:54 after the passengers refused to turn off his telephone during the takeoff, violated the International Civil Aviation Regulations. Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has since imposed an unlimited prohibition on him, which includes domestic and international flights.

“As a result, in the last few hours, I have spoken with the Police Commissioner of the Airport Police Command, DG NCAA and his team, MD Faan and his team, Coo Ibom Air and his team about the incident,” Keyamo added.

Miss Emmanson was charged on Monday before the Court of Judge Ikeja and sent to Kikiririri prison after failing to provide guarantees.

Keyamo urged air passengers with complaints to approach the Directorate of NCAA consumer protection instead of being involved in disturbing actions, warning that violations would attract severe punishment.

“We will continue to apply the same sanctions available to us on the flight to the wrong passengers, which are a long flight ban and report these problems to other law enforcement agencies to carry out their bits in their strength,” he concluded.
