A lecturer in the Department of Public Administration at Kogi State Polytechnic, Mr Anslem Ojodomo, has died in class while teaching.
The Chancellor of the Polytechnic, Prof Salihu Avidime, confirmed the incident in a statement signed by the Acting Coordinator of the Public Relations Directorate of the institution, Mr John Onimisi, Friday in Lokoja.
This tragic incident occurred only a month after another lecturer, Dr. Barnabas Akuba, died shortly after completing his PhD program.
Ojodomo’s death has sparked concern and fear among staff and students, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding his sudden death.

The Chancellor expressed his deep condolences to the community and the family of the deceased.
He described the news as a “deep personal shock.”
Avidime recalled his meeting with Ojodomo a few hours before his death, where they exchanged pleasantries and shook hands.
The Chancellor praised the late lecturer as a staff member who was dedicated, humble and committed to excellence.
“The Polytechnic community mourns the loss of a promising and dependable academic colleague, who embodied scholarship, service, and character.
“Ojodomo’s contributions as Deputy Dean, Student Services, and lecturer are remembered as very impressive and inspiring,” said Avidime.
