Kwara Sports Commission and FA commission Kwara to unite Queens on discipline at opening

The Chief Executive Officer of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, stressed the importance of discipline and concentration as Kwara United Queens officially launched in Ilorin.

Mallam Mogaji made this known on Thursday during the inauguration ceremony held at the Club secretariat within the Stadium Complex, Ilorin.

The state’s number one sports administrator noted that success in sports is based on focus, perseverance, resilience and discipline, and urged players to embody these values ​​to achieve excellence in their professional careers.

He commended the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its continued investment in sports development and stated that the establishment of Kwara United Queens reflects a genuine commitment to the promotion of grassroots football.

According to him, the initiative also underlines the government’s dedication to inclusion and gender balance in sports.

“We will continue to promote gender sensitivity in all sectors. The inauguration of Kwara United Queens is a testament to the current administration’s love for girls. We will continue to consolidate and improve sports development,” he said.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Idris Musa Abdullahi, also called on the players to remain disciplined and dedicated, assuring them of the support of the FA within the framework of established football rules and ethics.

He urged the team to give their best on the field and avoid any action that could jeopardize their careers, adding that the FA would continue to align with the standards of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), CAF and FIFA to ensure global best practices.

In his speech, the club president, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Owolabi, thanked stakeholders for their unwavering support, especially during the recent trials. He praised the coaching team for selecting a strong team capable of making the state proud.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Eng. Nurudeen Adeyemi, describing him as a key pillar of support for the team, while calling on others to emulate his commitment.

Kwara United Queens will feature prominently in the Kwara First Lady Pre-Season Tournament, scheduled to begin on Friday, April 10.
