Kwara United unveiled 17 new players in Ilorin on Thursday ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) season.
The new players will join 18 returning players for the upcoming season.
Among the new signings are Ifeanyi Ogba, a former Rangers International striker; Oyeleso Suraj, a veteran NPFL goalkeeper from Plateau United; and Akani Akeem from Sporting Lagos, who have all joined the Harmony Boys.
During the opening ceremony held at the multi-million naira Sugar Film Factory in Ilorin, Kwara United General Manager, Bashir Badawy, who represented the club’s chairman Kumbi Titiloye, stressed the rigorous recruitment process.

“We are scouting for talent through tours in Ogun, Lagos and Bayelsa states to find the right mix of players for the new season,” Badawy said.
“As you can see, we have put together a balanced team with young and experienced players.”
Highlighting the club’s performance data from various tournaments across the three states, Badawy assured that Kwara United remains a strong contender.
“We have conceded only a few goals and have beaten top teams, including Al Merikkh from Sudan, a strong team on the continent. With more days of training ahead, our squad will be fully prepared to give their best when the league starts,” he added.
