Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have been involved in a long-drawn meeting at the State House, Abuja.
The meeting is the final on the series of meetings presaging the October 3 proposed indefinite nationwide strike.
The meeting is expected to thaw the ice. It is expected to agree to the suspension of the notice of strike by the organised labour.
The Labour team is feeding the government team with the outcome of its emergency national executive committee meeting, which held earlier on Monday.
At the end of the meeting on Monday, President Bola Tinubu had approved N35,000 as the provisional wage increment for all treasury-paid workers for the period of six months.
The unions had directed their members across the country to mobilise for a “shutdown of the nation” on October 3 as a protest against the removal of the petrol subsidy and the economic hardship in the country.
