The Lagos State Chapter from the Congress of All Progressive (APC) has rejected criticism of the Loan Policy of the Tinubu Bola President, insisting that loans taken under their strategic government and are related to critical national development projects.
In a statement on Thursday entitled “Hypocrisy of Peter Obi’s loan: Doctor, healing yourself,” APC spokesman, Mr. Seye Oladejo, aimed at the 2023 Labor Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, for this new comment that describes the Tinubu loan as “reckless.”
Oladejo said Obi did not have the moral authority to question the government’s fiscal approach, urged him to focus on his strength in politics.
“First, the loan is not inherent carelessly. What is important is the goal and care.

“Under the President of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, loans are strategic, related to critical infrastructure, energy, transportation, and productive sectors.
“This is a practice that is accepted globally – even the most advanced economic loan to fund growth,” said Oladejo.
He argues that Obi’s record as the Governor of the State Anambra is contrary to his current rhetoric about fiscal care.
“Nigeria remembers that as a governor, he left unpaid retirement, undermined infrastructure, and poor human resource index,” Oladejo said.
He accused Obi of having a double standard, describing his criticism as a hypocrite.
“For someone who flew all over the world in a private jet during his campaign while sermons about the cost of cutting, the contradiction was striking,” he added.
Oladejo stated that the Tinubu policy – including the abolition of subsidies, currency reform, and targeted loans – was the steps needed to revive the economy.
“The removal of subsidies, currency reforms, and targeted loans are difficult but inevitable steps to secure the future of Nigeria. This is a leadership that is in action – not emptying moralization,” he said.
He urged Obi to stay away from complex discussions on finance and government, insisting that the president focused on rebuilding the nation.
“He ran out of depth and not in his place,” said Oladejo.
“Tinubu is building Nigeria’s future, while Obi is busy building votes. The one is a reformer, another motivational speaker. Nigerians know the difference,” the APC spokesman added.
