Lampard, amazed by the Super Eagles midfielder, achieves another victory

The head coach of Coventry City in the English Championship, Frank Lampard, has once again praised Nigerian international midfielder Frank Onyeka shortly before their 2-0 victory over Bristol City in the English Championship.

Onyeka, who was battling fatigue before the match, was introduced with 13 minutes remaining in a moody match, which saw players from both sides given their marching orders.

As has happened since his arrival to the team, they achieved another victory that has brought them closer to their dream of achieving automatic promotion to the English Premier League.

The top-placed teams currently hold a nine-point lead over third-place Millwall, with the top two earning automatic promotion to the English elite division.

Onyeka, 28, joined the Sky Blues from Brentford on transfer deadline day in February and has been part of a winning team in all his appearances so far for the Championship leaders.

“When we recruited him, the playing profile was different as we have little experience in the Premier League,” Lampard told BBC CWR before the match.

“Not many of our players have been exposed to the Premier League, some other Championship teams have a lot of exposure to the Premier League.

“So there’s an experience about it, an understanding of his game, but he’s had a big impact on and off the pitch for us. His professionalism is really good and he’s clearly come in and helped our improvement over the last few weeks.”
