Lasiec rejected the ad hoc staff claim for unpaid wages

The Lagos State Independent Election Commission (LASEC) has rejected the wage claims that have not been paid by several AD HOC staff involved for the July 12 local government election in the state.

The Head of Public Affairs again, Tope Ojo, made clarification in a statement on Wednesday.

He said: “The Lagos State Independent Election Commission (LASEEC) has been known the above publications circulating in the media.

“The commission firmly denied claims and wanted to correct.

“Lasec greatly appreciates the contribution of AD-Hoc staff who ensure the success of the behavior Saturday, July 12, 2025, local government elections.

“Contrary to publication, all verified AD-Hoc staff have been paid according to the specified schedule, with the payment completed in the last two weeks, which has never happened before in the history of the commission.

“Only a few extraordinary cases due to incomplete or wrong bank details.”

He showed that the election officer in each regional government area of ​​the affected people had been advised to deal with related AD-Hoc staff, to manage their account information.

“Verification is ongoing with officers appointed in the commission to ensure that those who have details are corrected immediately completed,” he added.

LasiC spokesman urges the media to avoid unnecessary sensations, noting that the commission does not receive formal complaints or petitions from AD-Hoc staff regarding unpaid wages.

“The embezzlement dispute was wrong and misleading. One of the representations that damaged public trust in democratic institutions.

“LasiC remains committed to carrying out its duties with transparency, integrity, and justice, and urges the media home and the public to verify the facts before publication,” Ojo said.
