LASU LAW STUDENTS ARE WINNERS IN THE INTER-UNIVERSITY SHORT MOOT COMPETITION

Students of the Faculty of Law, Lagos State University have emerged winners of the moot court competition for law students from the six geographical zones of the country.

The students – David Akinwunmi, Johnson Ogundein and AdeyemWe soffiyah – beat participants from the Faculty of Law from twelve (12) other universities to emerge victorious in the hotly contested competition, which was held at the Dr. Olusegun Legal Resource Centre, University Olabisi Onabanjo, Ago. Iwoye in Ogun State.

The competition, organized to hone the skills of future lawyers, saw the participants argue a case titled Copyright and Patent Infringement, following which LASU emerged winner of the competition.

LASU’s feat marks the 4th consecutive time that the institution will top the inter-university moot court competitions during this academic session. Very recently, in May 2024, LASU Law also emerged first among 52 participating universities in a moot court competition held at Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulates the victorious students, noting that their feat strengthens LASU’s place as the best university to study law in Nigeria. The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Kareem Olatoye also congratulated the students.
