Federal Capital Region Minister (FCT), Nyesom Wike, warned that on Monday the personal interests of some people would hurt the opportunity for the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 General Election.
The minister stated this during his monthly media direction in Abuja.
He regretted that PDP opportunities in the next general election had been reduced by the wounds caused by themselves and leadership failure.
The former Governor of the State Rivers also scolded the PDP leadership to tolerate impunity, saying that the party was not ready to challenge the Congress of all Progressive (APC) in 2027.
He also condemned the criticism of the Governor of the State of Delta, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his predecessor, IFEYAN OKWA, because he joined APC.
Wike said: “Leadership is the key, if you do not show the right leadership, you will suffer for it and this is what I say.
“When people talk about the Governor of the State Delta and his predecessor moved from PDP to APC, what was wrong? That he said he would support Tinubu, it was a crime.

“But whose BOT leader is the conscience of the party adopted by Otti for the second term. Why don’t people comment on that?
“The Chairman of the PDP BOT adopted Alex Otti, the governor under the labor party, for the second term.
“There is no opposition party that allows impunity, it is only the ruling party. The opposition will regulate itself to take over government affairs.
“How many times do they make efforts? How many people have you needed? More than them after wike; they left what they should have done – the only crime was that the wike was a minister under the APC government.
“I am the only former governor who does not support the presidential candidate but ensures that PDP wins 100 percent in the Governor, the State Assembly and the National Assembly. Let the Governor sit or the former governor comes out to say that happens in their states.
“If PDP is not careful, beware of what will happen because selfish interest can kill the organization. You have not won the election, but you exclude people.
“You want to play the same game as you played in 2023, it will backfire. I have told people that this intelligence will not help you. Wike tells you now to stop this intelligence.”
