The former governor of the State of Kebbi also stated that the agenda of renewed hope is a recognition that the nation was not where it was supposed to be when the president acquired, therefore the need to take all the necessary courageous measures already taken, pleasant or otherwise in the interest of the nation.

He observed that Nigeria is on the right stretch to achieve sustainable growth and development, adding that it would be hasty to compare the level of growth by the country with the Rwanda and Singapore since the country is under a constitutional democracy and a free market economy.

The minister said: “One thing I can assure this meeting is that we, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we do not have all the answers, we are humble for any interrogation, we are humble from every suggestion that can help us do it well.

“Our renewed agenda of hope is a recognition that we are not where we want to be when we have hired, but we will not play to hit the fault and get to where we should be or face the right direction, we should make all the pleasant or less courageous decisions, and we have taken them and we believe that the results, some of which are already in public domain.

“But since we did well, it does not mean that we cannot do better and we are humble to recognize it. So we believe we have a strategy, we believe that the choices we have made in the last two years are paying the results. For example, the revenues that go to the submarines are literally tripled.

“There are currently some states that their internal debts have decreased by eighty percent because the federal government was very active in ensuring that all reimbursements, payment and debts intended for states have been eliminated. In order to have improved the physical space for the two levels of the government, but we also appreciate that we must do more.”

The founder executive director of the LSD center, Dr. Ottivi Igbuzor, complained that Nigeria and Africa are found at a crossroads following a failure of the leadership.

According to him, the nations that are prospera today are those who had leaders who provided a clear vision, built strong institutions and mobilize citizens towards productive commitment.

“We have abundant human and natural resources, but poverty, unemployment and inequality persist. The paradox is clear: the Nigerians excellent at a global level – in medicine, academy, technology and business – yet we fight with the scarce governance and the economic submarine at home. The missing bond is an effective political leadership.”

He invited graduates to go out as an ambassadors of the transformational leadership, urged them to ensure that their leadership trip is anchored with a character, competence, courage and compassion.

“Lead with integrity even when it is expensive. Be a voice for justice and fairness. Be strategic but rooted in the needs of your communities.

“Uncertainty all of us – leaders, citizens, institutions – to embrace the call to reconstruct Nigeria and Africa. We do not give up on despair. We are committed to values. We make ourselves leading the leadership. We are committed to action.”

This initiative would not have been possible without the altruistic contributions of our teachers and the tireless efforts of the leadership school team, who dedicated their Saturday to this noble notability”.
