Oshodi-Isolo Local Government plans to rename Liverpool Road to Oshodi-Isolo in honor of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu. According to the Prime Minister, Kehinde Oloyede, the decision recognizes Seyi Tinubu’s important contribution to youth empowerment and community development.
In a statement shared on the local government’s official X profile by his media aide, Oloyede announced that preparations are underway to rename the road. He described Liverpool Road as a key route connecting the Oshodi/Apapa Expressway and the International Airport, underscoring its strategic importance.
A media aide to the president confirmed that the street will soon be commissioned and officially renamed, with the date of the ceremony to be announced later.
Oloyede highlighted the street’s troubled past, explaining that it was once plagued by criminal activity, making it dangerous at all hours. However, since assuming office, his administration has successfully eliminated criminal elements and overseen the reconstruction of the road. Today the road represents a safe and functional route for both residents and travellers, symbolizing the positive transformation achieved under his leadership.
