The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 20 leadership seats in the Rivers State Council election which was just held on Saturday.
The Democratic People’s Opposition Party (PDP) won three leadership seats.
This is in accordance with the results announced on Sunday by the Chairperson of the Rivers State Independent Election Commission (RSIEC), Michael Ekpai Odey.
The results are seen as the work of former Governor of State, and currently the Minister of Federal Capital (FCT) Abuja, Nyesom Wike.
Although PDP members, Wike has openly expressed support for APC, and continues to serve in the Tinubu Bola Presidential Cabinet from APC.

Siminalayi Fubara, a deferred state governor, who was clearly absent with his supporters during the LG election, lost his opobo-nkoro LGA to APC.
The election was carried out by RSIEC under the supervision of Ibok-Ete IBA, the only state administrator.
After the voting, Wike, praised the exercise and stated that the “clear beach” for terminating emergency rules in the state of Rivers.
Former Governor Rivers said the exercise was mostly peaceful while he replied to the voter’s apathetic report.
Wike also rejects concerns over the use of non-Wajib from the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in the election.
