In our Monday, July 8, 2024, edition of the New Dawn newspaper, particularly the story titled: SRC’s closure affects nearly 1,500 students” had a few inaccurate paragraphs.

In these inaccurate paragraphs in the article, one portrayed the General Manager of the Salala Rubber Corporation in Weala, Margibi County, Mr. Ajith Kumar, in a disrespectful manner.

Another paragraph inaccurately stated that Mr. Kumar fled the scene during the riot that led to the burning of his office in the concession area.

The Management and Editorial staff of the NEW DAWN sincerely apologize to Mr. Kumar for the disrespectful manner in which he was portrayed in the news article.

Due to the inaccurate paragraphs in the story, we have no option but to remove such publication from our website.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience the reportage by our Margibi correspondent may have caused Mr. Kumar, his family, and other senior company staff.

We take full responsibility for the correspondent’s misconduct. He has also been called to the Head Office in Monrovia for appropriate disciplinary action.
