Former Nigeria senior national team manager Jose Peseiro has issued a warning to Premier League side Arsenal who are being linked with a move for one of the Super Eagles’ Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Corriere dello Sport reports that the Gunners are monitoring Lookman’s situation at Atalanta due to his decision to submit a transfer request following interest from PSG, however, the Ligue 1 side are yet to follow up on their interest in the Europa League hero.

Arsenal will be closely monitoring the situation of the 26-year-old Nigerian whose hat-trick gave Atalanta their first European trophy with a 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Italian media reports say Osimhen is of interest to Arsenal as he is seen as an upgrade over Eddie Nketiah, who is expected to leave the team for Nottingham Forest in the coming days.

Peseiro, who coached both players during his 22 months as Nigeria’s senior national team coach, has pointed out the main difference in the duo, who were part of his team that finished second at the AFCON after losing 1-2 to hosts Ivory Coast in the tournament final.

β€œAdemola is more technical than Osimhen, more inclined to create play and now he also scores goals. He is performing very well this year,” Peseiro told SportItalia. β€œHe grew up with (Atalanta coach) Gian Piero Gasperini, now he is always playing and we are happy with him. He has a high level, he too can aspire to do great things.”

He added: β€œIt is no coincidence that both have grown this year. This is because both are within a good playing system. Atalanta and Napoli want the ball, they want to play and attack. In these conditions, the players get excited like this. Italian football has changed a lot in recent years.”
