The recently promoted Premier League team, Leeds United, has confirmed the firm of Lukas Nmecha in a free transfer.
The 25 -year -old striker joins from the Bundesliga Club Wolfsburg, where he spent the last four years.
During his second period in Wolfsburg, he scored 19 goals in 85 appearances.
Nmecha began his career at Manchester City, graduating from his academy.
Now he returns to England after four years, this time with the team with headquarters in Yorkshire.
Speaking to Leeds TV after moving, Nmecha said:
“I am really excited and happy. I can’t wait to get in motion. I have some people who have been here, like Josh, with whom I played. He told me about the atmosphere, fans, and obviously I have played against Leeds in the championship. The opportunity should definitely do so.
Nmecha has signed a two -year contract with the club.
Born Lukas Okechukwu Nmecha, is of Nigerian and German ancestry, and moved to England at an early age.
After representing England at the youth level, it changed loyalty to Germany.
Although he was eligible to represent Nigeria, the Super Eagles were never a priority for him.
His international career with Germany has not yet flourished, with only seven senior caps to his name and without apparitions in the important tournament for the national team.
