Man City Played Better Than Man United Despite Los

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes the Citizens played better than Man united despite losing the FA Cup title.

With speculation swirling about the future of manager Erik ten Hag, United ripped up the form book as first-half goals from teenagers Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo proved enough for them to lift the trophy for a 13th time.

They had to endure a second-half siege, however, as City swarmed forward and a late goal by Jeremy Doku set up a nerve-shredding finale before United could celebrate their first FA Cup final triumph for eight years.

However, in a chat with Sky Sports, Guardiola congratulated Man United but noted that the better team lost.

“Congratulations to them on a fantastic season.”

“We lost the game. Congratulations to United. It was a tight game.

“It can happen. Many things. At the end they scored two goals and we couldn’t score more.”

Asked if he thought United were the better team, he replied: “No.

“The second half we were there all the game. Manchester United are always a transition team. First half we struggled a bit but second half we were better. In general it as a good performance for a final.”
