A bus of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) broke out on the flames on Saturday morning in Maryland, in the state of Lagos, forcing the driver, the bus conductor and passengers to flee for safety.
The accident occurred while the bus was running from Ikorodu to CMS.
The account of the eyewitnesses revealed that the fire started shortly after the smoke began to float on the driver’s side.
The rescuers – including the officers of the Nigeria Police Forces, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (Lastma), the firefighters of the Lagos State and the local security staff – arrived on the spot to extinguish and guarantee security.
No injuries or victims have been reported.
