Maresca Gives Update On Injured Ndidi

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca has said Wilfred Ndidi will miss the trip to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday due to injury.

Ndidi was not in Leicesterโ€™s squad for Tuesdayโ€™s away game against Sunderland as a result of a tightness in his muscle.

Speaking after the game against Sunderland, Maresca said Ndidi was rested and should be back for Saturdayโ€™s game against QPR.

But in his presser on Friday he said that Ndidiโ€™s injury is more serious than first thought, and he will miss out on this weekendโ€™s game.

โ€œItโ€™s a bit more than tightness, he is out this weekend. It could be a few days, itโ€™s a muscle problem, but it is not a big thing,โ€ Maresca was quoted on BBC Sport Leicester X.

This would be a cause for worry for the Super Eagles coaching crew as they look forward to next monthโ€™s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Eagles will host Lesotho on November 16 in their first Group C fixture in the qualifiers before traveling to Kigali, Rwanda, to face Zimbabwe on November 20 on match day two.

Star striker, Victor Osimhen is currently out after sustaining a hamstring injury during the Super Eagles friendly game with Saudi Arabia.

Ndidi has scored one goal, provided three assists in 12 games for Championship leaders Leicester.
